It is quite well known at work- my chosen path in life- and to my surprise it has been warmly accepted. Quite often during break times, I am asked – so what are u up to this week and I generally have something to tell. Today during my afternoon break one of the young gym staff members- told me all about his spiritual journey and began recommending books for me to read. To his & my surprise we had both read similar if not the same books. It may not seem odd to anyone else but he is at least 20 years younger than me & from a strong Catholic family. He did say most of his friends think he is a bit strange- but he also said- who are they to judge. A very sound & enlightened young man.  I am amazed everyday at what joy this Pagan path is showing me and all the amazing new friends I have found- onward & upward. Brightest Blessings.

Blessed Beltane

Beltane eve is soon upon us- so I have a few Rowan twigs ready for the doors & windows- My son will be gathering and then throwing primroses on the doorsteps to the entrances to the house. Under the secret Hawthorn tree- we discovered in the garden last year- we are making a little shrine for the fairy folk and leaving gifts and on Beltane morning I will be out gathering the early morning dew to sprinkle on everyone for love & luck. No Beltane fire for us tho- as open fires outdoors are banned in Eire. I wish everyone a wonderfull Beltane time. Brightest Blessings.

Well it’s a real sign that spring is here and summer just around the corner. Out in the garden this morning- marveling at the beautifull rainbow colours of the dew drops on the lawn- I heard the first Cuckoo call of the year.  I have also noticed the Swallows are returning after their epic journey form Africa. It’s always a wonderful sight- and a joy to hear them twittering on the telephone wire that leads from our bedroom to the telegraph pole out the front of house. Brightest Blessings.

Getting in the Mood.

Sometimes it can be quite difficult to settle down to meditate- especially after a really buzzing- busy day at work- then coming home to the family- cooking dinner etc. So I take a little extra time on these occasions by preparing in one or two ways. I visualise myself bathed in pure cool moonlight and feeling protected and secure for a good few minutes while taking in long deep breaths. Or I visualize myself in a beautifull rainbow bubble floating on fluffy clouds in a blue sky over a calm bluegreen sea- Where I can hear soft lapping waves. Both really help to slow me down and I find I can meditate so much deeper. Brightest Blessings.

We have 3 differant kinds of bird baths in the garden- all in differant areas- for the differant birds. The tall one is under the tree with the nut feeders and fat balls. The smaller birds tend to use this one like the sparrows and tits. The shallow but very wide terracotta dish amid the herb patch is where the wrens & robins tend to go. Under the old twisted apple tree is an upsidedown bin lid- this is where the Blackbirds go- and they queue up in the tree above- it is quite amusing watching all the differant birds and their preferences. Brightest Blessings.
