Just looking out of the study window and it looks like we are in for one hell of a storm. The children are watching twister- just to set the mood. Inside- myself that is- there is also abit of a storm brewing. Work pressures- home pressures and my own inability to press forward- I know what needs to be done- but I seem never to have the time or energy to do it. At work I need to learn to sheild myself from the negative people- I am a very good listener and usually have good advise to give- but I guess I take on some of the negativity I feel from my colleagues. At home with Noel quite poorly at the moment and the kids and their needs- I feel I have no time for myself- indeed I feel I should not take time for myself when everyone else is in need. I have restarted meditating tho- but only for maybe 10 or 15 mins- this is helping. I am writing a ritual for the new moon on monday and this will help me move on and hopefully without the thunder & lightening that seems to be abrewing presently. Brightest Blessings.

Actually- just watched Gardeners World- and I seriously must get some comfrey- for liquid & solid fertiliser & compost making. Wonderful to see Simon King on from SpringWatch- with tips on attracting more wildlife to the garden. Is Carol Klein going to be the new presenter? I do so love her enthusiasm. How ever- I will still miss Monty- but the show must go on and I will still be an avid watcher as new ideas and tips are ever needed- you can never know enough- always some thing to learn & try out- Just like life really and ofcourse my wonderful pagan journey. Brightest Blessings.

Missing Me Time!

The last few days have been somewhat hectic- My daughter has exam’s and I have been doing mini test’s with her. My partner has had a bad time with his back and has needed a lot of support in more ways than one. Quite a few colleagues at work have been off with a flu like bug and my rota has been all over the place. I have had little or no time to meditate and it shows- I do not seem to have the patience or the clear calm level headedness to just prioritise and get on with even the normal usual everyday things- I seem to stress at nothing- and I know it is all down to me and my own attitude to what is going on around me. Just 3 days short of meditation- and look what I have become- I am a wreck.  I am a meditation addict who has had enforced cold turkey- and I don’t like it- so by hook or by crook I will find my me time and quick smart before I turn into a miserable manic mom. brightest Blessings.

I am amazed.

Today Noel & I had to travel upto Sligo Hospital for a CT scan on his back. It has been playing him up for years, sometimes just a brief jolt- causing pain & discomfort for a few days and sometimes he is flat out for days- weeks even. He has seen one doctor after another- been to a chiropracter- and finally we move to Ireland- have a couple of years relatively problem free- then last year a major jolt- which has put him out of action almost permanently. So after a year we finally had the appointment for the scan. The appointmant time was 1.30- the letter did state however that emergencies would be seen first. We arrived at 1.20- checked in – went to do our ablutions- returned and they were ready for him- to go thru to another waiting area- sat down for a couple of minutes and then he was called thru. I read barely 3 pages of my book and he was back out- all done. By 1.50 we were on our way home. Truly amazing and we should have the results in less than a week. Brightest Blessings.

Super seeds!

It is quite amazing really- how quickly seeds can germinate. Last Sunday we dug & planted our first little veg plot in the garden of our current home. Now Noel & I have had veg before- but in well tended Gardens and we grew them from young  plants. This was straight into the soil and already- we have lettuce- broccoli and beetroot showing, just 8 days later! Now it will remain to be seen if we can – 1) keep the slugs off. 2) stop the starlings using the new growth for nesting material and 3) prevent the kids from frisbeeing the tops off! Brightest Blessings.

Now that Chelsea is over- we can start to prepare plants for going outside. So we started with the Cymbidiums- they all had old leaves and old pseudobulbs removed- then had a plunge in a tepid bath- a good feed and a spray and repotting or dividing. So we now have 16 of those. Then it was Bradleys carnivorous monstrosity- a 5 foot tall pitcher plant. She was repotted and the 2 baby ones removed and potted on. Then it was the turn of the Banana- this had 3 babies- all removed and potted on. We ran out of time to do the other banana- a red leafed variety- now standing at 6 feet tall. The Goddess only knows how or where I am going to put them all when they come back indoors before the frosts return! I definately need a bigger house or at least half a dozen greenhouses. Brightest Blessings.
